Travelling with a pet can be a great experience. Neither of you is forced to go through the anxiety of being too far from your best friend and you can experience new locations together. However, as great as it might be to bring your pet along on your next holiday, there are situations when it might be safer for your pet to stay at home. These include: When you’re travelling to locations with high incidence of rabies If your pet is either too young or too old If you’ve not had time to gather the necessary documentation or do the recommended checks e.g. visits to the vet When you’ve not made prior arrangements or booked a pet friendly hotel If you’ll be spending a lot of time away from your pet etc. As fun as it might be to have your pet accompanying you on all your adventures, you should be smart enough to know if a visit will be too stressful for your pet.
